Choosing the Most Suitable Leather for You
Do you have children? Consider their age.
If children are young you can expect your furniture to receive a fair amount of harsh treatment. Please consider carefully when making your leather choice.
Do your pets live inside the house?
Animals may scratch and soil (ie body oil, fluids, dirt) if in contact with furniture.
How exposed will your furniture be to light?
Harsh UV from sunlight or even house lighting (ie halogen, fluorescent, etc) may cause leather to fade and dry out natural protective oils. It is helpful if window coverings are drawn during the day to reduce the amount of light exposure. Leathers such as Urban and Old Saddle are more UV sensitive.
How often will you use your furniture.
With use your furniture will develop a liven in appearance, for example puddling on seats and comfort creases just like your favourite leather shoes. With extensive use however your furniture will require more regular maintenance and cleaning.
