If it’s Perfect it May Not Be Leather.

Full grain leathers have natural markings including healed scars, neck and belly wrinkles, scratches, insect bites and brands that vary from hide to hide in the same way human fingerprints are unique. Full grain leathers also exhibit natural colour variations due to leather’s ability to accept dyes differently in various areas of the hide. These markings and colour shadings give leather its rich personality.

Moran is synonymous with leather
The Moran name is synonymous with quality leather furniture. Leather’s rich tones coupled with Moran’s advances in design have ensured the absolute finest leather possible.
Moran furniture gains much from the full grain hides individually selected for Moran by the world’s best tanneries. Choice is by quality, never by price alone.
They have superior strength, suppleness, durability and recovery. Moran’s leadership over the years has been strongly based on selecting leather with these attributes.
It takes weeks to dye a Moran leather. The colour is so deeply impregnated it goes from one side to the other. Final colour coats and a protective layer are added and you have UV protected leather that ages beautifully.

Know Your Leathers

Leather is a natural product and every hide has its own unique characteristics. These include: Scaring. Stretch marks, wrinkles and veins. Difference in grain structure. Colour tone variation. Look out for these distinctive features as they are the hallmarks of genuine quality leather. Moran leathers are hand cut by our experts so you can be assured of quality leather standards from front to back on your furniture. Moran does not compromise leather quality by mixing inferior leathers or leather substitutes on outside panels.

Sewing Details

Because leather lasts a long time, it is important that the way it is sewn for upholstering has the strength to match the durability of the leather. Moran uses sewing techniques that ensure excellent strength and good looks for each design.
Twin needle double stitching and topstitching require high levels of skill to ensure the correct result and performance from every seam. Moran avoids using nylon thread because this will deteriorate rapidly in high heat, humidity and sunlight causing seams to break down. Only top quality cottons coordinated with the colour of the leather are used by Moran
